Tensile force load cells and force transducers for tension applications measure exclusively in the direction of tension. They are integrated into the force flow or placed on an existing tension element – typical for hanging loads, slings, winders, and belt conveyors.
Variants of tensile force load cells and force transducers
Available options include tension links or force links, which are placed between two attachment points and directly absorb the load, and rope tension load cells, which determine the tension of a running rope or belt via the deflection force without interrupting the force flow.
Principle of operation and output signal
The sensors operate using strain gauges and provide an mV/V signal, which can be converted to 4…20 mA, 0…10 V, IO-Link, or fieldbuses using weighing transmitters and measuring amplifiers.
