Here you can order wireless load cell shackles and standard load pins. For custom load pins, including redundant designs up to SIL 3, see our page on load pins.

octogon's standard load pins up to 20t nominal load can be used individually or as part of a complete measuring system. Sensors of various designs and accuracy classes, in conjunction with our selection of measuring amplifiers, provide an ideal and reliable solution for measuring load, force, weight, and for preventing overload and overstressing in systems.

Load pins are usually supported externally in two bearings, for example in the lugs of a fork clevis. The force is applied between the bearings. The load measurement expands the machine element with the weighing function.

Our standard load pins are significantly more cost-effective due to their fixed dimensions compared to custom-made load pins or force measuring pins.

Area of Application

octogon's range of standard load pins is designed for measuring tensile and compressive forces in a variety of applications, including crane/lifting devices, industry, marine, offshore, and construction. Made from high-strength stainless steel, our load pins are suitable for use in exposed situations, including prolonged immersion in seawater.

Load cell shackles with wireless transmission

A load cell shackle – also called load shackle or shackle load cell – sits directly in the load path as a shackle and measures the force where it acts. It can be retrofitted without modification and is suited to cranes, hoists and mobile use. Our load cell shackles transmit the measured value wirelessly, without cables.

LPMA, LPMB and LPMC: 3.25 t, 4.75 t and 9 t
LPEA: 11 rated loads from 6.5 t to 250 t, 2.4 GHz radio up to 200 m, higher rated loads on request

Pins made to your drawing can be found among our custom load pins, further designs under Buy force transducers.

Frequently asked questions about load cell shackles and standard load pins

Standard load pins or custom load pins?

Both work on the same principle: a pin with strain gauges that measures the force in a connection. Here you find standard designs with fixed dimensions and price. Pins to your dimensions and all basics are on our page about load pins.

When a load cell shackle instead of a load pin?

When the structure should not change: the load cell shackle replaces an existing shackle. A load pin replaces a pin in the machine and is the solution for fixed installations.
