Description
The EKMB sits in the connection head and turns the voltage of a thermocouple into an impressed current of 4 to 20 mA. Eight thermocouple types are supported — K, S, R, J, T, N, B and E — and together they cover −260 to 1820 °C. The output is galvanically isolated against the input with 1 kV AC and is linearised in the device; the transmission error is at most 0.1 % of full scale or 0.2 °C, the resolution 16 bit. The device is supplied out of the current loop with 6 to 32 V DC and needs no auxiliary energy of its own. It is set without contact over RFID: type of thermocouple and measuring range can be changed at any time with the EKMH configurator and its software. The black PA66 case measures Ø 45 × 23 mm, weighs about 35 g and is rated IP20 for mounting inside the connection head.
