Description

The EFMI is the ATEX and IECEx approved handheld display of our wireless system — the only receiver that may itself be operated in the hazardous area. It displays the readings of the radio transmitter modules without a cable to the sensor and is compatible with existing T24 systems.

The marking is I M2 Ex ib I and II 2G Ex ib IIC T4 Gb at Ta = −20 to +50 °C. The device is powered by two Energizer L91 lithium cells in size AA — other cells are not permitted, and cells must not be changed in an explosive atmosphere. The cells themselves are Ex certified.

The display can show any detected transmitter or up to 24 stored transmitter modules, through which the operator scrolls. In addition, up to eight group totals can be formed. Each group and each individual module gets its own name, scaling, display format, zero function and overload threshold. Six membrane keys on the front panel are used for operation; label strips can be inserted behind the transparent windows.

The radio link uses the licence-free 2.4 GHz band with DSSS at 10 mW and 15 channels. The antenna is built into the enclosure, so no special mounting rules apply. With the permitted L91 cells, 54 hours of continuous operation and more than five years of standby when switched off are possible.
