Description
The EFMD is the handheld display for wireless measurement. It shows the readings of the radio transmitter modules in real time — load, force, pressure, torque, strain or temperature — without a cable to the sensor.
As delivered, the device works in roaming mode: up to twelve transmitters nearby are detected and displayed automatically. Alternatively, twelve fixed inputs can be defined, each with its own name, calibrated unit and overload warning. Most settings are made in the menu on the device, including transferring the radio settings to the transmitters; full setup and saving and loading of configurations are handled by the free Toolkit software. Menu items can be locked or hidden, and PIN and password prevent accidental changes. The firmware can be updated via the Toolkit.
The EFMD combines the most commonly used features of the previous separate handheld displays in one device and is compatible with existing T24 systems.
The radio link uses the licence-free 2.4 GHz band with DSSS at 10 mW transmit power and can therefore coexist with WLAN, Bluetooth and Zigbee. The range of up to 800 m applies in open field at 3 m above ground. Two standard AA alkaline cells power the device; continuous supply is also possible for fixed installations.
