You receive a device with a cable or M12 connector, which delivers the measured value digitally and already in your unit. No separate amplifier, no millivolt line, no space required in the machine frame.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eLoad cells and sensors with IO-Link output: One device instead of two\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eA classic measuring chain consists of a sensor, measuring cable, and amplifier. With a sensor featuring integrated IO-Link, the middle component is eliminated. The bridge is directly powered and digitized within the housing, and the sensitive millivolt signal never leaves the sensor.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis results in four practical advantages.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNo interference on the signal path.\u003c\/strong\u003e Between the measuring point and digitization, there are only a few centimeters instead of several meters of cable. Frequency converters, contactor circuits, and parallel power lines are therefore no longer an issue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFewer connection points.\u003c\/strong\u003e Every terminal and every connector is a potential source of error, especially with vibration and moisture. An integrated sensor has only one.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNo space required for an additional module.\u003c\/strong\u003e In cramped machine frames, on grippers, and in fixtures, there is often simply no room for an additional housing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eScaled and calibrated ex works.\u003c\/strong\u003e The sensor delivers Newtons, kilonewtons, or kilograms, not mV\/V. We calibrate the entire measuring chain, upon request \u003ca href=\"\/en\/pages\/kalibrierung-waegezelle-kraftmessdose-kraftaufnehmer-iso17025\"\u003eaccording to ISO 17025\u003c\/a\u003e in our own laboratory, and provide the protocol. During commissioning, you upload the IODD file, and the value is correct.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 dir=\"ltr\"\u003eWhen a separate amplifier is better\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe integrated design also has disadvantages, and you should be aware of them beforehand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRetrofitting is not possible.\u003c\/strong\u003e An existing load cell cannot be made IO-Link compatible in this way. For this, you need an \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/io-link-dms-messverstaerker\"\u003eIO-Link measuring amplifier\u003c\/a\u003e as a separate module.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe electronics share the sensor's environment.\u003c\/strong\u003e The permissible temperature range is determined by the electronics and is therefore lower than that of a pure strain gauge cell. Near ovens, in foundries, or in high-temperature applications, separating the sensor from the evaluation is the better approach, even with a remote amplifier.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIn case of failure, you replace the entire device.\u003c\/strong\u003e With a separate design, you only replace the module if in doubt. With integrated electronics, the complete sensor is returned.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDelivery time.\u003c\/strong\u003e Integrated versions are usually built to order, while the cell and standard module may be in stock.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe rule of thumb: New designs, limited space, harsh environments, and series production favor the integrated solution.
